Dukale is an Ethiopian coffee farmer and a close friend of Laughing Man. A promise to him inspired Laughing Man and our dream that “ALL BE HAPPY.”

So while our espresso is balanced, velvety and bright, we sometimes describe it in the same way we describe Dukale . . . hard working and friendly.

I really enjoyed the taste on its when put into a press. It had a good musky flavor with a little more citrus note than your average espresso. However, when pulling an espresso I had a hard time getting it tuned in. The shot always wanted to pull to quickly. My grind was on the finest setting and tamp was correct. I must say though, my set up is only a $600 one and it may be the case that with a finer grind there would be no problems.

This is wonderful coffee; I brewed a pot today and my whole family is already asking for a second pot out of the French press.

I not a fan of black coffee, but this is rich, bright and incredibly smooth. Not a hint of bitterness, just full bodied flavor. I almost didn't wanna add anything, though it's great with dark chocolate syrup, half & half and homemade whipped cream on top. :D

I will definitely order more of this. I'd love to see it come in a one pound bag option soon!

Wonderful authentic espresso! Stands on its own as a simple shot... but so comforting in a latte or brewed in a french press.
